Mindy Kailing's LATE NIGHT Adds John Lithgow & Hugh Dancy To Cast  Image

According to Variety, Hugh Dancy, John Lithgow, Reid Scott, and Paul Walter Hauser are set to join Mindy Kailing's upcoming comedy LATE NIGHT. The join the cast of Kailing, and Emma Thompson. Read more about the casting news from Variety here!

The film, written by Kailing, centers on a talk show host (played by Thompson), whose show is put into jeopardy after she hires her first female writer (played by Kailing).

Lithgow most recently starred on Broadway this winter in JOHN LITHGOW: STORIES BY HEART. He is also known for his roles in SHREK, THE CROWN and RAISING CANE. Dancy is most known for his roles in HANNIBAL, BLACK HAWK DOWN, and ELLA ENCHANTED. Scott can be seen on the hit HBO series VEEP and the upcoming VENOM. Hauser was most recently seen in the Oscar nominated I, TONYA.

Kaling is the creator and star of the television sitcom The Mindy Project, which premiered on FOX and later moved to Hulu. She also serves as a writer and executive producer on the series. The actress is also known for her work on the popular NBCsitcom The Office, where she portrayed the character Kelly Kapoor. In addition to acting on the show, she was a writer, executive producer, and occasional director for the show throughout most of its run. For her work on The Office, Kaling received various accolades, including a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series, in 2010.

In addition to her work on film and television, Kaling has written two New York Times best-selling memoirs, titled Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) and Why Not Me?. She will soon appear on the big screen in A WRINKLE IN TIME.
