Michigan F.A.S.H. FEST LLC's anticipated go-to event comes to Detroit for the 3 rd year today, September 12. The two-day event kicks off with the Runway Industry Showcase/Gala from 8-11 p.m. at the Skillman Branch Detroit Public Library, 121 Gratiot and continues with the Free Fine Art Festival on September 13, noon-11 p.m., taking over Farmer Street.
Michigan F.A.S.H. FEST LLC was created by Detroit-based Presence II Productions, an experiential public relations firm with a mission to boost awareness and revenue for individuals, for-profit and non-profits in the creative arts.
Both days attention goes behind the scenes to BlueWorld Productions, Colonial Events, Jason Loudermilk Photography, and more.
Friday features the team at Antonino Salon and Spa, with emcee and Editor of StyleLine magazine Karen Buscemi. The opening performance by Satori Circus welcomes designer Stein Van Bael, sponsored by real estate agent LIZ IN DETROIT. Next, a collaborative Accessory Showcase with Designs by Nancy Gad-Harf, Sheila Palmer of Quetarshe Textiles, and leather craftsmanship of T. Michael Collection. The finale launches Leslie Ann Pilling, Michigan F.A.S.H. FEST's CEO, and CUREiosities, manufactured in-house. After the show, the Gala Courtyard Gallery Market Street promotes shopping local, including Blumz by JR designs, Vincente's Cuban Cuisine and the Hudson Cafe.
Saturday's Free Fine Art Festival celebrates individuals through Fashion, Art and Sound. The beauty teams led by Hair Lab Detroit and make-up by Lynette Arlene, with photography from K Creations by Kaitlyn Kramer are the backdrop for the hour-by-hour runway, which showcases Double Barrel, collaborative Youth Stylist Showcase, Designer Kristine Opaleski, Blank itti Blank, Harmonic Threads, plus vignettes by Meridith Lorde.
The main stage's line-up is filled with seasoned youth and industry professionals with Liquid Flo mixes, co-produced by Piper Carter. Opening is Jennifer Kincer and Friends singing group and soloists Robin Williams, Grace Lee, Ali Kristine McManus and Lia Catallo. Multi-talented Sean Blackman plays at 2 p.m., who later will lead a collaborative jam of world-class musicians, including drummer Sowande. Back from their European tour, award-winning Carolyn Striho Band commands the stage before the multimedia performance by Doc Colony. Random pop-up edutainment comes from Chit Chats, Master Chess Players and more.
