The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center presents Michele Balan, one of the greatest out-and-proud comedians, for two uproarious nights at the Center's Renberg Theatre. Her performances March 9-10 will be her first L.A. appearances in years, giving long-time fans and new fans alike the chance to find out why Backstage Magazine named her one of their "Top 10 Comedians."
The former computer exectuive moonlighting as a Bette Midler impersonator now headlines shows all over the country and was celebrated as a finalist on NBC's Last Comic Standing, named "The Last Woman Comic Standing." She has also appeared on The Joy Behar Show, Byron Allen's Comics Unleashed, NBC's TODAY Show, StandUp in Stilettos, and the OUTlaugh festival on MTV's LOGO.
Michele Balan: Live in L.A. will perform on Saturday, March 9, at 8 p.m. - Sunday, March 10, at 7 p.m. at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Renberg Theatre (200-seat capacity), The Village at Ed Gould Plaza, 1125 N. McCadden Place, Hollywood (one block east of Highland, north of Santa Monica Blvd. Free parking). The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center provides a broad array of services for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community, welcoming nearly a quarter-million client visits from ethnically diverse youth and adults each year. Through its Jeffrey Goodman Special Care Clinic and on-site pharmacy, the Center offers free and low-cost health, mental health, HIV/AIDS medical care and HIV/STD testing and prevention. The Center also offers legal, social, cultural and educational services, with unique programs for seniors, families and youth, including a 24-bed transitional living program for homeless youth.
