The producers of the hit comedy Buyer & Cellar have announced that tickets are now on sale through April 13, 2014. The hit comedy, which recouped its initial investment in record time, is currently playing an open-ended run at the Barrow Street Theatre where the play continues to break box office records.
Buyer & Cellar, starring Michael Urie ("Ugly Betty"), written by Jonathan Tolins, and directed by Stephen Brackett, is the recipient of the 2013 Drama Desk, Clarence Derwent, and Off-Broadway Alliance awards. Following the play's world premiere in April 2013 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, the critics were unanimously wowed. The New York Times critics Ben Brantley and Charles Isherwood raved about the play at Barrow Street. Brantley wrote that Buyer & Cellar is "the most talked about new comedy of the season." "It goes down as easily and tastily as lemon sorbet, and the only pain in your stomach it creates is the kind that comes from laughing too hard." Isherwood--on WQXR Radio--called the hit comedy "very funny" and "a tour-de-force performance."
