Variety reports that Michael Sucscy ("The Vow") is in negotiations as the possible director of a Beach Boys musical film that would feature a fictional story told through the music of The Beach Boys. Fox 2000 would helm the film. Susannah Grant ("Erin Brockovich") has written an untitled manuscript.
According to Varitey, "Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the team behind successful bigscreen musicals 'Hairspray' and 'Chicago,; will produce with John Stamos."
The Beach Boys are an American rock band from the 1960s, composed of Brian, Denns and Carl Wilson, Mike Love, and Al Jardine. The group is known for its tight harmonies and songs like "Good Vibrations" and "California Girls." It has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
