Michael Ingbar Gallery is pleased to announce that the solo exhibition of color photography by Christopher Burkett has been extended through January 22, 2011.
For 30 years, Christopher Burkett has been creating vibrant and luminous color photographs of our country's pristine landscape. He travels the states each year in eager anticipation of nature's seasonal effects. Burkett has rigorously studied his subjects with patience and meticulous forethought, which allows the viewer a fresh set of eyes with which to evaluate and experience his or her surroundings. His craftsmanship is a testament to his intuitive and intellectual understanding of nature and light's effect.
Burkett's approach to nature and his responsibility in reflecting its virtuous beauty is evident in his master printing techniques. Through the use of sophisticated and unique masking methods, Burkett is a recognized international expert in printing Cibachrome photographs. He meticulously handprints each of his 8x10" transparencies to 20x24", 30x40", 40x50" and panoramic prints up to 25x64", which retain absolute clarity and illumination.
