Met Opera And Broadway Star Alyson Cambridge Takes Center Stage This Holiday Season at Carnegie Hall

World-renowned opera singer and Broadway star Alyson Cambridge will perform a special holiday solo concert, accompanied by pianist Michael Fennelly, at Carnegie Hall's beautiful Weill Recital Hall on Sunday, November 25 at 7:30PM.

Respected as one of the most diverse and compelling vocalists today and known for her "powerful, clear voice" (New York Times) and "revelatory, sensual, smoky readings" (Opera News), Cambridge will offer a uniquely magical musical experience for lovers of all types of music with the concert appropriately entitled 'Tis The Sunday: Songs of the Season.

"With so much happening in our city and the world today, Michael and I wanted to use this opportunity to bring joy, healing, and peace to people," Cambridge says. "Music is one of the rare universal gifts that has the ability to inspire unity and happiness, and I am thrilled to be able to do this, especially at this time, on such a prestigious stage as at my cherished Carnegie Hall."

Presented by Athena Music Foundation, founded by Michael Fennelly in 2011, the evening's primarily classical repertoire will include art song, opera, African American spirituals and holidays favorites with a nod to themes of the season such as thanks, giving, peace, and hope. There will also be special guests including Constantine Maroulis, two-time Tony-nominated singer, actor, producer and songwriter best known for his starring roles in Rock of Ages, Jekyll & Hyde, and Rocktopia, who will join Cambridge and Fennelly in this celebratory, uplifting post-Thanksgiving concert that kicks-off the holiday season.

Alyson's rich, warm soprano, combined with her strikingly beautiful stage presence and affecting musical and dramatic interpretation, have brought her over a decade of successes on the world's leading opera and concert stages, including The Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Washington National Opera, Carnegie Hall, London's Royal Albert Hall, as well as recent debuts in Paris, Beijing, and other musical capitals throughout Europe and Asia. Her repertoire includes the beloved heroines of Puccini, Verdi, Mozart (Mimi, Madama Butterfly, Donna Elvira, Violetta and Micaela), and successful forays into the more commercial territory of Broadway and jazz. About Michael Fennelly:

Praised as a pianist with "flair and energy" (The New York Times), Michael Fennelly's recordings include The Legend of Faust: Part One, Debut, and Grand Tour. This season he is the soloist with the National Chorale in his own arrangement of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue for solo piano, orchestra, and symphonic chorus at Lincoln Center. He conducts a new opera From My Mother's Mother by Jeeyoung Kim for the Korean Cultural Center, NYC, and performs in concert with Renée Fleming and Emmy nominee Tituss Burgess. Last season Michael Fennelly established the Athena Music Foundation and toured China, Macau, and Hong Kong with several rising opera stars of the Metropolitan Opera.
