Met Museum Celebrates Independence Day Weekend With 7/5 Met Holiday Monday

"Met Holiday Mondays" are special days that the Museum opens to the public beyond its regular schedule, and selected exhibitions, galleries, and shops are open. (The Museum is usually closed on Mondays.)

The Met will be open on Monday, July 5, the Monday after Independence Day, including these popular exhibitions:

* Picasso in The Metropolitan Museum of Art
* American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity
* An Italian Journey: Drawings from the Tobey Collection, Correggio to Tiepolo

WHEN: July 5 (Monday after Independence Day), 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

WHERE: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street

NOTE: Upcoming 2010 Met Holiday Mondays include September 6 (Labor Day), October 11 (Columbus Day), and December 27 (Monday after Christmas).
