There will be a memorial service for clarinetist Joe Muranyi on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 7 pm at St. Peter's Church, 619 Lexington Avenue at 54th Street, New York City.

Joe Muranyi is perhaps best known for being the final clarinetist with Louis Armstrong and His All Stars, performing and recording with the group from 1967 until Armstrong's passing in 1971. Muranyi also performed with a host of jazz greats including Roy Eldridge, Red Allen, Eddie Condon, Lionel Hampton, and the World's Greatest Jazz Band.

The memorial service will include performances by many musicians who knew Muranyi. The service will be followed by a reception. For more information, contact St. Peter's Church at 212.935.2200 or www.saintpeters.org.
