Previews begin tonight, July 7, for The Cottage on Broadway! The production  opens on July 24 at the Hayes Theater (240 West 44th Street) for a strictly limited engagement through October 29.

The Cottage will star Emmy Award winner Eric McCormack (“Will & Grace”), Tony Award nominee Laura Bell Bundy (Legally Blonde), Tony Award nominee Lilli Cooper (Tootsie), Alex Moffat (“Saturday Night Live”), Nehal Joshi (The Phantom of the Opera), and Dana Steingold (Beetlejuice). Understudies Michelle Federer (Wicked OBC), Matthew Floyd Miller (“American Crime Story: Impeachment”), Tony Roach (Flying Over Sunset), and Jamie Ann Romero (“The Punisher”) complete the cast.

The Cottage is written by Sandy Rustin and directed by Tony Award winner Jason Alexander (“Seinfeld”) making his Broadway directorial debut.

Eric McCormack

(Beau)

made his Broadway debut as The Music Man in 2001, then co-starred in the Tony-nominated Gore Vidal’s The Best Man in 2012. So it’s time for his every-eleven-years return with The Cottage! Other stage includes the Off-Broadway premiere of Neil LaBute’s Some GirlsGlengarry Glen Ross (Arts Club, Vancouver), Follies, and the upcoming A Little Night Music (Royal Conservatory, Toronto), The Fantasticks (Reprise, LA, also directed by his friend Jason Alexander), and five seasons with Canada’s Stratford Festival. On television, Eric was a producer, director, and star on three seasons of “Perception” (TNT) and three more of the Netflix sleeper hit, “Travelers.” He is best known for his Emmy®-winning performance as Will Truman on eleven seasons of NBC’s “Will & Grace,” for which he was nominated for six Golden Globes®. Upcoming series include “Departure,” season five of “Slasher,” and Hulu’s much-anticipated “The Other Black Girl.” Films include Free EnterpriseHoly ManThe Sisters, and the Canadian comedy Drinkwater (on Amazon this month), for which he received Canada’s Leo Award and the ACTRA/UBCP Award.

Laura Bell Bundy

(Sylvia)

 made her stage debut at age nine in the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. Since then, she has originated the roles of Tina in Ruthless (Outer Critics/Drama Desk Nominations), Amber in Broadway’s Hairspray, most notably Elle Woods in Legally Blonde The Musical (Tony nomination), and played Glinda in Broadway’s Wicked. Bundy is a Billboard top 5 recording artist with multiple albums — “Achin & Shakin” (Universal Music) and “Another Piece Of Me” (Big Machine). A Sony Publishing songwriter from 2008-2013, she toured with her music all over the world. Her most recent critically acclaimed album “Women Of Tomorrow” (and companion podcast on Broadway Podcast Network) delves into the issues women are facing today and has millions of streams on Spotify. Bundy has been in dozens of films and over 100 episodes of television including roles on “Call Me Kat,” “Fairly OddParents,” “Perfect Harmony,” “How I Met Your Mother/Father,” “Hart of Dixie,” “Anger Management,” and “Jumanji,” among others. As a writer/composer she developed series “Mashville” (Netflix) and “Girltime” (Freeform). Bundy recently launched the Womxn of Tomorrow community and app to help women activate their activism. Lilli Cooper

(Marjorie)

is a Tony-nominated actress who is currently starring as Doc in Apple TV’s “Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock.” Broadway: Chris in POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive, Julie in Tootsie (Tony nomination), Sandy Cheeks in Spongebob Squarepants (original Broadway cast), Elphaba in Wicked, and Martha in Spring Awakening (original Broadway cast). Alex Moffat

(Clarke)

A breakout performer on SNL, Alex succeeded Jim Carrey as Joe Biden on the show. He is best known for his impersonations of Eric Trump, Mark Zuckerberg, Anderson Cooper, and Joe Scarborough amongst others, as well as his original recurring Weekend Update character Guy Who Just Bought A Boat. His most current films include Susie Searches, which premiered at the 2022 TIFF on September 9th, and the holiday comedy, Christmas with the Campbells, opposite of Brittany Snow and Justin Long, that just released in Canada on October 1st. He can next be seen on Apple’s “Bad Monkey” series, an adaptation of Carl Hiaasen’s novel where he’ll star with Vince Vaughn. Over the 2020 holiday season, Alex appeared in the Netflix feature, Holidate, directed by John Whitesell and starring Emma Roberts. He also worked on the Paramount feature Clifford, the live‑action hybrid based on the best-selling book series and directed by Walt Becker. Alex can be seen playing opposite Brittany Snow in the breakout romantic comedy Someone Great. He has also been receiving great praise for his performance in The Opening Act, produced by Peter Billingsley. Aside from SNL, he can be seen on TV in Showtime's series “Billions” and is the voice behind Jimmy in Disney's sequel Wreck-It Ralph 2. Spending the earlier years of his career in Chicago, he was a regular performer at iO and The Annoyance Theatre as well as an official acro-dunker for the renowned Chicago Bulls. He played in the Celebrity All-Star game in February 2020.

Dana Steingold

(Dierdre)

originated the role of Girl Scout in Beetlejuice on Broadway where she also covered the role of Lydia Deetz. Broadway/National Tours: 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Off Broadway/New York: Avenue Q (Kate/Lucy), The Visit (Otillie opposite Chita Rivera), Saturday Night (Mildred), Anyone Can Whistle (City Center Encores!). Michelle Federer

Broadway credits include Nessarose in Wicked (original cast) and Three Days of Rain. She was in the original cast of A Man Of No Importance at Lincoln Center and has worked at The Atlantic and 2nd Stage as well as many regional theatres. Michelle played Millie on 3 seasons of “New Amsterdam” and was Nate's mom Sherrie, in Disney Plus' movie Better Nate Than Ever.
