A number of upcoming events will feature Rick McKay, the director and writer of Broadway:The Golden Age, discussing his acclaimed documentary.

On September 28th, McKay will tell stories about making Broadway: The Golden Age at The Players (16 Gramercy Park South) in The Show Must Go On. Hosted by Andy Borowitz of CNN, NPR, The New Yorker and The New York Times, the evening will be presented by The Moth and feature McKay as well as electronic music star Moby and others. The event will begin at 8 PM, and will be preceded by 7 PM cocktails.

Then on September 29th, McKay will interview Hollywood legend Jane Powell (Royal Wedding, Hit the Deck, the stage musicals Irene and Bounce) at the Museum of Television and Radio (25 W. 52nd Street). The 7:30 interview will follow a screening of the lost film Ruggles of Red Gap at 6 PM.

In addition to these events, McKay will be a guest lecturer on Crystal Cruises in February of 2006. He will discuss the Broadway musical and independent film en route to New Zealand and Australia.

Broadway: The Golden Age 2 is currently in full production, documenting the '60s and '70s (and a bit of the 50's) - "the last era whose players became household names on stage, film and television. Already filmed are Robert Redford, Glenn Close, Dick Van Dyke, Diahann Carroll, Elliott Gould, Valerie Harper, Sid Caesar, Peter Gallagher, Patti LuPone, Ann Reinking, Richard Thomas and more, as well as upcoming shoots with Liza Minnelli, Bernadette Peters, Debbie Reynolds, Burt Bacharach and many more." In the meantime, Broadway: The Golden Age will be screened at The Cinema at The Red House in Syracuse, NY every weekend in November.
