McDonald Receives Sarah Siddons Society Award

Five-time Tony Award-winning Broadway royalty Audra McDonald was feted on Monday night in Chicago when she was honored by the Sarah Siddons Society and presented with their 2013 annual award.

The Ritz-Carlton in Chicago was the setting for the elegant reception, at which a passionate and well-spoken McDonald addressed the illustrious attendees and graciously accepted their honor with expected grace and poise.

McDonald joins previous starry Sarah Siddons Society award recipients such as Bette Davis, Lauren Bacall, Lynn Redgrave, Angela Lansbury, Rita Moreno, Elaine Stritch, Patti LuPone, Liza Minnelli and last year's honoree, Barbara Cook, among others.
