Five-time Tony Award-winning stage superstar Audra McDonald has been making the rounds promoting her newest solo recording, the exquisite GO BACK HOME, as well as her recent PBS special of the same title, and she recently stopped by WNYC's Soundcheck for an interview and performance, with clips now released.
McDonald discusses the songs on GO BACK HOME and the inspirations behind them as well as shares onstage and offstage stories in the chat, as well as performs a few songs, too - namely: "Go Back Home" from THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS and and "Make Someone Happy" from DO RE MI.
Additionally, McDonald performs the specialty song "Baltimore", written by Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich, in a new video just posted.
Don't miss my recent InDepth InterView with Audra McDonald all about the album and much more, available here.
