Max von Essen, Tamika Lawrence & More Join Rebecca Luker in THE SECRET GARDEN Benefit

Friends in Theater Company and State of Play Productions announces additional casting for The Secret Garden, a two-night only production to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York and Western New York. Performances will take place on Monday, January 11, 2016 AND Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 7:30pm at the Lucille Lortel Theater (121 Christopher Street New York, NY 10014).

Tony Nominee Max von Essen (American in Paris) as Dr. Neville Craven, Tamika Lawrence (NBC's The Wiz LIVE) as Rose, Tom Deckman (Two River Theater's ALL MALE Funny Thing Happened on the way to the FORUM) as Dickon, and Frances Mercanti-Anthony (Jerusalem) as Mrs. Medlock join previously announced Rebecca Luker (Mary Poppins) as Lily and Bill Nolte (The Producers) as Ben, Gabriella Pizzolo (Fun Home) as Mary, Eli Tokash (Finding Neverland) as Colin, Ali Ewoldt (The King and I) as Ayah, andCortney Wolfson (Kinky Boots) as Martha. The ensemble features an array of up-and-coming performers including Lacey Angerosa, Zech Azazi, Phillip Claflin, Michael Gioia,Emma Grimsley, Megan Johnson, Travis Kent, Jenna Miller, and Michael Yeshion.

Original cast member and Tony Winner Daisy Eagan will host the staged event.

Curtis Holbrook (If/Then) will be rejoining the team as director and choreographer for the two night special event. Jonathan Rose returns as Music Director and will be assisted by Michael Finke. This special benefit production will be produced by Friends in Theater Company's Philip Accorso and Meryl Ballew, and State of Play Productions, withMichael Hull and Alex Rubin. The Secret Garden is written by Marsha Norman(book/lyrics) and Lucy Simon (music).

All proceeds will benefit the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a non-profit organization that has given hope, strength, and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions since 1980.
