Max von Essen, Karen Ziemba, Julia Murney & More Set for Project Shaw's GETTING MARRIED, 6/23

Gingold Theatrical Group's PROJECT SHAW, under the leadership of Founding Artistic Director David Staller, presents George Bernard Shaw's curious comedy, Getting Married, on Monday, June 23 at 7pm, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2895 Broadway at 95th St.).

Directed by David Staller, Getting Married features Dakin Matthews (Alderman Collins), Howard McGillin (Bishop of Chelsea), Michael McCorry Rose (Cecil Sykes), Andrea Lynn Green (Edith Bridgenorth), Philip Glassborow (General Bridgenorth), Max Von Essen (St. John Hotchkiss), Heidi Armbruster (Leo Bridgenorth), Xanthe Elbrick (Lesbia Grantham), Julia Murney (Mrs. Bridgenorth), Bradford Cover (Reginald Bridgenorth), Warren Kelley(Rev. O.C. Soames), and Tony winner Karen Ziemba (Mrs. George Collins). Katherine Kellgren will be narrator.

George Bernard Shaw's Getting Married is a provocative tale of creative couplings. The Bishop's daughter is getting married, but second thoughts are flying through the air. Lesbia is determined to live without a man, but wants to have a child. Hotchkiss has broken up a marriage but is it the husband or wife he's interested in? All converge to forge a partnership agreement between consenting adults to try and circumvent the traditional marriage contract. And then the mysterious Mrs. Collins arrives to throw everyone off balance.

Project Shaw events for 2014 include A 'Super Shaw' Evening (July 28), Village Wooing (September 29), An Ibsen Evening (October 27), The Millionairess (November 24), and TBA (December 22).

Now in its ninth year, Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw made history in December 2009 as the first company ever to present performances of every one of Shaw's 65 plays (including full-length works, one-acts and sketches). GTG presents an annual festival, SHAW NEW YORK, which includes a fully-mounted Shaw play. Its 2014 festival will bring The Pearl Theatre Company and GTG together to co-produce Shaw's Major Barbara, directed by David Staller, this November and December.
