Tenderloin, based on a novel by Samuel Hopkins Adams, was produced on Broadway in 1960 by Harold Prince and Robert Griffith. It tells the tale of Dr. Brock, a crusading Minister who has dedicated himself to cleaning up that section of New York devoted to vice, the area known as the "Tenderloin". Naturally, those whose livelihoods depended on that vice dedicated themselves to seeing that Dr. Brock didn't succeed.

"We are a little sad to be at the final production of our Sheldon Harnick Musicals in Mufti Series, but that it is this wonderful show with this incredible cast makes it a happy ending indeed! Tenderloin has not been seen in a professional production in New York City in over 20 years-- and this is everyone's chance to see it with a stunning Broadway cast," said Producing Artistic Director, James Morgan.

The performance schedule for Tenderloin is Friday, March 7 at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8 at *2:30 p.m. & 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 9 at *2:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. (*audience discussions follow the matinee performances).

Tickets are priced at $45.00 ($31.50 for York Members) and are available online at www.yorktheatre.org, by calling (212) 935-5820, or in person at the box office at the York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue), Monday through Friday (12-6 PM).

The York Theatre Company's acclaimed Musicals in Mufti series of musical theatre gems, in a simply-staged, book-in-hand concert format, has presented over 90 shows from the past in its twenty-ninth year history. Mufti means: "in street clothes, without the trappings associated with a full production."

The 2013-2014 season York Theatre main stage season continues with the world premiere of a new musical, Inventing Mary Martin - celebrating a first lady of musical theatre. The show is conceived, written and directed by Stephen Cole, with music supervision and arrangements by David Krane and co-directed and choreographed by Bob Richard. Performances are set to begin Tuesday, April 15 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 18 at York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's. Casting will be announced shortly.
