Known to the world as Mavado or more recently "The Gully God", the singer behind the eerie wails of "Anywayyy!" and "Gangsta for life!" which have dominated the airwaves was born David Constantine Brooks on November 30, 1981 in the micro-ghetto community "Cassava Piece" within Kingston, Jamaica. Before getting his break in the music business, Brooks worked as a barber and his two main influences on the direction of his young life were his grandmother and the music of Bounty Killer. "To tell the truth" he explains, "it was me grandmother that first really bring me in the studio, 'cause she bring me in the church to sing. She always tell me to sing for her and that really give Mavado the courage to get to love music." But if the sweet sounds of gospel provided the motivation, it was the gruff voice of Bounty Killer that proved to be the more powerful influence. "As a youth, Sanchez and Wayne Wonder were really my two singers, Sanchez have the voice of an angel. But me and my friend always say 'Yo, Killer is the wickedest!' So long as it's Killer, it's just my song, trust me!"

While getting money is a trait that has become rather cliché for Harlem emcees throughout the years, the go-getter nature is truly exemplified in the most vocal member of the ASAP Mob. In a movement that has quickly gained the support and momentum of millions, success is the only option. To credit Yams, the mastermind behind Harlem's newest trill wave, ASAP is all about accumulating status and power. It's quiet for anything else.

For more than a decade pianist/sound-sculptor/songwriter Marco Benevento has been amassing an extensive resume of composition and collaboration. His studio albums have set forth a vision for music that connects the dots between Explosions In The Sky and Tortoise on one side, Brian Eno and Brad Mehldau on the other, while in the live setting his performances reverberate with pulsating dance rock energy. The 34-year old artist takes the next step forward in this evolution with his latest album, TigerFace, on which he paints his songs in a myriad of sonic colors, shimmering with acoustic piano, synths and analog keyboards. The tunes themselves seemingly conceptualized from every wisp of melody, hook and cadence that's ever tickled his ear.

The music of The Grateful Dead transcends time, age and space. Their high energy, soul touching jams and family like environment was a core part of the counter-culture experience. Over the past 14 years Dead Sessions has grown to become one of the favorite Grateful Dead experiences in the Northeast. Playing since 1998, the collective is known for their authentic but unique renditions of Grateful Dead classics, thick with heartfelt jams that make the most jaded Deadhead rejoice. Dead Sessions is composed of a rotating cast of musicians throughout the country, but the roots of origin are easily traced to the Green Mountain State. With an unmasked joy that pours off the stage and blurs any boundaries with their audience, the Sessions are beloved from both the casual fan to the dedicated Terrapin warrior. Dead Sessions have included members of Trey Anastasio Band, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Grippo Funk Band, Gordon Stone, Doug Perkins, Turkey Bouillon Mafia, Seth Yacovone Band, Liquid Dead and more. Special guests have ranged from your neighbor "down The Farm" to Mike Gordon of Phish.
