Maura Tierney to Be One of LaBute's Some Girl(s), May 17-June 24

MCC Theater has announced that Emmy Award-nominated television and film actress Maura Tierney ("ER") will star as 'Bobbi' in the U.S. premiere of Some Girl(s) by Neil LaBute. The strictly limited engagement of Some Girl(s) will begin preview performances on Wednesday, May 17th and continue through Saturday, June 24 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC). Opening night is set for Thursday, June 8, 7PM.

Some Girl(s) reunites LaBute with director Jo Bonney, who helmed MCC's critically-acclaimed, sold-out run of Fat Pig last season. "Set in four different city hotel rooms (Seattle, Chicago, Boston and Los Angeles), Some Girl(s) follows a soon-to-be-engaged man as he pays a last visit to four ex-girlfriends before taking the plunge. Casting is underway for the ensemble cast which includes the role of 'Man' and the other three ex-girlfriends, Sam, Tyler and Lindsay.

Tierney is currently gracing television screens every week as Nurse Abby Lockhart on the top rated NBC series "ER," for which she received her first Emmy nomination. She will next been seen in a film for Magnolia Pictures called Diggers, in which she stars opposite Paul Rudd, Ken Marino, Josh Hamilton, Ron Eldard, Lauren Ambrose and Sarah Paulson. Other film credits include Primary Colors, Liar, Liar, Insomnia, Welcome to Mooseport, Instinct and Forces of Nature, as well as Primal Fear, The Temp, White Sands, Oxygen and Scotland, PA. Prior to joining the cast of "ER," Tierney spent four years on the critically acclaimed NBC series "News Radio." Her stage credits include roles in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, The Bald Soprano, Baby with Bathwater, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea and Talking With.

The London production of Some Girl(s) performed at the Gielgud Theatre and starred David Schwimmer as 'Man;' it ran from May 12th through August 13th, 2005. LaBute's other plays include Fat Pig, The Mercy Seat, The Distance from Here, bash and The Shape of Things.

Some Girl(s) will feature set design by Neil Patel (The Mercy Seat); costume design by Mimi O'Donnell (Fat Pig); lighting design by David Weiner (Living Out) and sound design by Rob Kaplowitz (Fat Pig).
