London-based designer, Matthew Williamson, debuted a makeup palette he created with Benefit Cosmetics called The Rich Is Back. The palette consists of three neutral shimmer shadows and a pop of teal, plus a cherry lip gloss, blush and mascara. It comes in a very Matthew Williamson-like kaleidoscopic box with peacock feathers and pink flowers.
Williamson's inspiration for the palette came from both his favorite period of time and the decade of Benefit's inception: the Seventies.
Their collaboration and sense of style seems like a perfect pairing. Williamson
told WWD, "They take a slightly irreverent, tongue-in-cheek approach. And the optimism expressed in the brand is something I like to do in my work."
Even though his fashion aesthetic is known for bright colors and embellishments, Williamson said, "I'm definitely of the mind-set less is more" when it comes to beauty. His Benefit palette is priced at $34 launches later this month exclusively at
Sephora.
