Matthew Weiner is a big fan of HOW TO SUCCEED!

MAD MEN creator Matthew Weiner is gearing up to unveil the final episodes of the acclaimed cable drama series next month and he honors the most influential films to the hit AMC series with a new film festival at BAM, premiering today, titled MAD MEN AT THE MOVIES.

Among the selections in the new retrospective is the big screen version of Pulitzer Prize-winning Frank Loesser Broadway hit HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, which will be shown tonight, April 22.

Additionally, THE LOST WEEKEND and MIRAGE will both be shown as part of the festival, as well.

The official description of MAD MEN AT THE MOVIES is as follows: "BAMcinématek bids farewell to Don Draper and company with a trio of movies that inspired Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner. These time capsules from a vanished New York City are awash in the boozy, retro-cool atmosphere that the series so magnificently recreates."

MAD MEN AT THE MOVIES will occur today and tomorrow, April 22 and 23. More information on MAD MEN AT THE MOVIES is available at the official site here.

Weiner recently commented on his affection for Broadway in general as part of a recent interview, "I love it, and you can see from the show how influenced I am by musicals, and how much of a fan [I am]... I mean, besides doing a musical number last [year, "The Best Things in Life Are Free"], we've done a lot of musical numbers in the show."

Furthermore, Weiner posits, "I've picked a lot of music from very famous [musicals], from Sound of Music. Hopefully from watching the show you can see that I'm not a casual fan - it's not a casual interest in this art form... Especially because the period where we started the show, 1960, to me, that was the golden age, and there was just one after another that are still playing right here."
