The Tony Award-winning An American in Paris welcomes Matthew Scott to the role of Adam Hochberg beginning tonight, Tuesday, August 9. Matthew joins original cast members Leanne Cope, Veanne Cox, Jill Paice and Max von Essen.

Matthew replaces Brandon Uranowitz who played his final performance on Sunday, August 7 and who will appear in Falsettos on Broadway this Fall.

The hit musical An American in Paris is now playing at the Palace Theatre (47th Street and 7th Avenue) through October 9, 2016.

Matthew Scott (Adam Hochberg) has appeared on Broadway in Sondheim On Sondheim, Jersey Boys and A Catered Affair. He also sings on the Sondheim On Sondheim cast album. Across the US, he has performed in productions at La Jolla Playhouse, Old Globe, Kennedy Center, Signature Theatre, Goodspeed Opera House, Paper Mill Playhouse, ALLIANCE THEATRE, Philadelphia Theatre Co., O'Neill Theatre Center, York Theatre, Muny and Pittsburgh CLO. His television credits include "First You Dream: A Tribute To Kander & Ebb" (PBS), "All My Children," and the 2006 and 2007 "Tony Awards."

AN AMERICAN IN PARIS received 12 Tony nominations and won 4 for Best Choreography, Best Orchestrations, Best Set Design and Best Lighting Design. The musical also won four Outer Critics Circle Awards including Best Musical, the Drama League Award for Best Musical, four Drama Desk Awards, three Fred and Adele Astaire Awards and two Theatre World Awards.

In a city suddenly filled with new possibilities, one young GI will discover his passion for art, his desire for change and the love of his life. An American in Paris is inspired by the Academy Award-winning film and features the music and lyrics of George and Ira Gershwin, the Tony Award-winning choreography of director Christopher Wheeldon and a book by Craig Lucas.

The cast of An American in Paris includes Dimitri Kleioris as Jerry Mulligan, Leanne Cope as Lise Dassin, Veanne Cox as Madame Baurel, Jill Paice as Milo Davenport, Matthew Scott as Adam Hochberg, and Max von Essen as HenriBaurel.

The cast also includes Caitlin Abraham, Kyle Brown, Attila Joey Csiki, Megan Dickinson, Ashlee Dupré, Laura Feig, Kurt Froman, Stephen Hanna, Derek Hanson, Dustin Layton, Marina Lazzaretto, Cory Lingner, Nathen Madden, Gia Mongell, Christy Morton, Charlotte O'Dowd, Candy Olsen, Kristin Piro, Rebecca Riker, Sam Rogers, Shannon Rugani, Bradley Schlagheck, Jeffrey C. Sousa, Sam Strasfeld, Charlie Sutton, Tory Trowbridge, Mindy Wallace, Allison Walsh and Scott Willis.

The creative team is comprised of Tony Award-winners Bob Crowley (sets and costumes), Natasha Katz (lighting) and 59 Productions (projections.) Sound is by Jon Weston with the musical score adapted, arranged and supervised by Rob Fisher, orchestrations by Christopher Austin, dance arrangements by Sam Davis, musical supervision by Todd Ellison,and additional orchestrations by Bill Elliott and Don Sebesky. The Associate Director is Dontee Kiehn, Associate Choreographer is Sean Kelly and Resident Director is Hannah Ryan. Casting is by Telsey + Company/Rachel Hoffman, C.S.A.

The score of An American in Paris includes the songs "I Got Rhythm," "Liza," "'S Wonderful," "But Not For Me," "I'll Build a Stairway to Paradise," and orchestral music including "Concerto in F," "Second Prelude," "Second Rhapsody/Cuban Overture" and "An American In Paris."
