Nicholas & Alexandra, the new musical from writing team of Ryann Ferguson & Steven Jamail, along with Aimee Mignon Postell, will have a private, industry reading in Manhattan on October 28th starring Matt Lutz & Autumn Hurlbert in the titles roles and Tony-Award Nominated American Idol Finalist, Constantine Maroulis, as Rasputin.

Produced by Lynda Buttle with littlewow productions and directed by Steve Bebout (Associate Director: The Book of Mormon, Sister Act, The Addams Family; Director: I Got Fired) this pop-opera chamber piece traces the downfall of one of Europe's most famous and infamous families through the turbulent first years of the 20th century.

Originally work-shopped by famed producer Stuart Ostrow, Ferguson & Jamail (VOTE!) are joined by writing collaborator Aimee Mignon Postell for the most intimate telling yet of one of histories richest, heart-breaking tragedies.

At the turn of the 20th Century, Nicholas Romanov was the richest and most powerful man in the world. He and his wife, Alexandra, were descendants of every major royal house in Europe and were deeply, personally happy. But they kept a secret that threatened both their personal happiness and the future of their changing nation.

In addition to Lutz (Bonnie & Clyde) and Hurlbert (Legally Blonde, Nobody Loves You) the reading also stars Ben Cook (Billy Elliot) as Alexei, the doomed young heir; Jacqueline Antaramian (Mary Stuart) as the Dowager Empress, and Katie Rose Clarke (Wicked), Teal Wicks (Jekyll & Hyde), Dana Steingold (Spelling Bee), & Sam Tedaldi (Mrs. Sharp) as the four Romanov daughters. Rounding out the cast are John Arthur Greene (Matilda), DC Anderson (Phantom), Justin Scott Brown (Far From Heaven) and Guy Lemonnier (Around the World in Eighty Days) as Nicholas' devious advisors.

Casting by Geoff Josselson Casting. Hannah J. Alter serves as company manager. Theresa Flanagan and Peyton Becker are stage managers.
