2014 Emmy Award nominee for HBO's acclaimed film adaptation of Larry Kramer's Tony Award-winning THE NORMAL HEART, Matt Bomer, is set to guest star on frequent collaborator Ryan Murphy's multi-award-winning horror anthology series AMERICAN HORROR STORY, in the new season subtitled FREAK SHOW, according to a new report.
Murphy relays, "I try to get him to do everything for me... I sent him a text that said, 'First right of refusal, here's the role.'"
As for describing the character Bomer will portray on the horror hit, Murphy says, "It's very...warped."
Bomer previously guest-starred on Murphy's short-lived NBC series THE NEW NORMAL as well as made a guest appearance on Murphy's hit FOX musical dramedy series GLEE in addition to his work with the director on THE NORMAL HEART.
AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW stars Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Denis O'Hare, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Frances Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe, Evan Peters and Jaimie Brewer, with new cast members Michael Chiklis, Wes Bentley, Finn Wittrock and Patti LaBelle joining the ranks for the new season.
Of note, AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW centers on a traveling carnival in Jupiter, Florida, during the 1950s.
