Masterworks Broadway continues to deliver on its promise to make more of its incomparable catalogue available by announcing weekly digital releases beginning with 'The Leonard Bernstein Songbook' on August 10. Each of these recently out-of-print recordings will be available for download only via major digital service providers.
"We are excited to bring these important titles out of the archives and into the ears of both collectors and a new generation of listeners," said Alex Miller, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Sony Masterworks.
Starting August 10, the weekly digital releases will be accompanied by new album pages and photos (when available) on www.MasterworksBroadway.com.
Masterworks Broadway is committed to eventually releasing all musical theater recordings in its catalogue, including Broadway, Off-Broadway, studio and international cast albums, as well as key "cover" recordings of theatrical songs and scores.
Other upcoming digital releases include 'Jerry Hadley: Standing Room Only' (August 17), 'Harolyn Blackwell: A Simple Song' (August 24), and 'Celebrate Broadway, Vol.1: Sing Happy!' (August 31).
Other albums to be released in the coming months include: further volumes of the 'Celebrate Broadway' series, Maury Yeston's GOYA featuring Plàcido Domingo, PINS AND NEEDLES featuring Barbra Streisand, 'Robert Goulet: On Broadway', 'Harold Sings Arlen (with friend)' and more.
