Christopher Ashley directs the new musical based on the film version of the same name. Douglas Carter Beane has provided the book and the score features all of the hits from the film including "Magic", "Xanadu", "Party All Over the World", and "I'm Alive", all top 20 Billboard hits. Score was written by John Farrar and Jeff Lynne. Dan Knechtges is set to choreograph.
Mary Testa, who has appeared numerous Broadway shows including "Chicago", "42nd Street", "Marie Christine", "On The Town", "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" and "The Rink", will play the role of Melpomeny, the evil muse of tragedy and Jackie Hoffman joins her as Calliope, the muse of epic.
