Mary Bond Davis Extends at Danny's Through May 20

Hairspray star Mary Bond Davis has extended her engagement at Danny's Skylight Room through May 20th.

"The joint is jumpin' every Saturday night at 11 PM!," state press notes. "Late night comes alive when Bond Davis unleashes her dynamic personality and powerhouse vocals...Singing an eclectic mix of American standards, she is backed by the popular musical director, Ross Patterson (Broadway by the Year and Broadway Unplugged), and the two of them make music together like a house afire."

Bond Davis most recently appeared on Broadway as Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray. The Women; Jelly's Last Jam; Marie Christine; Bring In 'Da Noise, Bring In 'Da Funk; Show Boat; Mail and Grease round out her Broadway credits. In addition to her numerous off-Broadway and regional credits, she has appeared in seven tours of Ain't Misbehavin' on four continents. In 2001, she toured with Ann-Margret in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Film credits include The Preacher's Wife, Jeffrey, Hook and Romance and Cigarettes, while she has been seen on TV in "Twin Peaks," "Gimme a Break!" and others.
