Martin, White, Etc. Set for Artios Awards; Taylor Honored

The New York Casting Society of America (CSA) will honor casting director Juliet Taylor (Taxi Driver, Annie Hall) with its Annual "Apple Award" for her significant contribution to the New York Film and Theatre community on Wednesday, November 1 at Caroline's on Broadway (1626 Broadway, between West 49th and West 50th Streets, NYC).  

In addition to the Apple Award, for Artios Awards Outstanding Achievements in Casting will be presented during the 22nd Annual Awards ceremony, beginning at 4:45pm EST (cocktail reception), followed by the 5:30pm ceremony.  In Los Angeles, the CSA Awards will be held simultaneously at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.  

Celebrities presenting New York Artios Awards include:  Bobby Cannavale ("Will & Grace"), Dana Delany (NBC's "Kidnapped"), John Krasinski ("The Office"), Swoosie Kurtz (Heartbreak House), Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone), Mary Stuart Masterson (Fried Green Tomatoes), Joey Pantoliano ("The Sopranos"), Annabella Sciorra ("Law & Order: Criminal Intent"), Julie White (The Little Dog Laughed ), Mary Birdsong and Donna Vivino (Martin Short: Fame Become Me) and Christian Hoff and John Lloyd Young (Jersey Boys).  Presenters are subject to change.

Artios Awards for Outstanding Achievements in Casting include: Feature & Independent Film; Television Mini-Series; Daytime, Dramatic & Comedic Television; Broadway, Off-Broadway, Regional & West Coast Theatre; Animated Voice-Over TV.

Past recipients of the NY-CSA Apple Award are: Jack O'Brien, Jane Rosenthal, Tom Fontana, Rosemary Tischler and Joe Mantello.

Taylor has worked with some of the leading directors of our time, including Mike Nichols, Steven Spielberg, Woody Allen, Louis Malle, Martin Scorsese, Alan Parker, James L. Brooks, John Schlesinger, Stephen Frears, Nora Ephron, Neil Jordan and Sydney Pollack. She has cast more than 80 films, more than 30 of them for Woody Allen.

Among her credits are: Schindler's List, Terms Of Endearment, Sleepless In Seattle, Dangerous Liaisons, Big, The Grifters, Mississippi Burning, The Killing Fields, Working Girl, Julia, Taxi Driver, Network, Pretty Baby and The Exorcist. She won an Emmy Award for casting the HBO miniseries "Angels In America."  Her work with Woody Allen dates back to Love and Death in 1975 and includes most recently Match Point and Scoop.
