Entertainer Marti Gould Cummings, known for his inventive blend of drag, comedy, and vocal performance, announces a drag-rock fusion event, The Queen in Concert: Marti Gould Cummings, January 8, 2019. Held in the rare and beautiful Spiegeltent (mirror tent) erected by the Big Apple Circus, The Mirror Room interactive installation at Lincoln Center crowns Cummings as the ringmaster of his very own glam circus.
After a series of sold-out concerts and a nearly two year hiatus, The Cummers (Blake Allen, piano; Magda Kress, bass; Mike Lunoe, drums; Eric Miranda, guitar; Kristina Nicole Miller and Vanja Alexander, back up vocals) will join Cummings for a throwback set list through the decades of pop anthems and beyond. From the discography of Cher, Britney Spears, Stevie Nicks, Black Sabbath, Radiohead and more, Cummings will infuse the evening with his solid vocals and unpredictable wit, eye-high kicks and split jumps, and, of course, lots of glitter.
"2018 has been a transcendent year for me, creatively, politically and personally. I was listed in the OUT100 list, spoke at a pride rally with an incredible turnout, was awarded the Ali Forney Luminary Award and performed all over the world," recalls Cummings. "There is no bigger way to kick off a shiny new year than at the world-class Lincoln Center, surrounded by bright lights and great friends."
