Marina & Nicco have just announced the full theatrical run of UNPACKING: A Ghost Story Told in the Dark, running July 26th - August 13th: Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7pm, Sundays at 2pm.
A happy couple has just moved into their new home. But the novelty of homeownership quickly fades as they face a sea of boxes, a major blackout, and, shortly thereafter, the ghosts of all their past relationships.
The newest play from comedians Marina & Nicco combine two of your biggest fears: the dark and commitment. The audience lends a hand by lighting the stage for a couple that is literally, and figuratively, feeling their way through the dark.
Flashlights will be provided.
This production is a part of SubletSeries@HERE: a curated rental program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment, as well as technical support. For tickets and information: visit here.org or call 212-352-3101

About UNPACKING:
Unpacking was first produced as part of Marina & Nicco's six-month writing residency at The Peoples Improv Theater.
As the lights went off and the flashlights clicked on, Marina and Nicco loved to watch the couples in the audience react to the play: from big belly laughs to silence; from nervous sidelong glances to the slow movement of an arm around a shoulder. Unpacking touched and stayed with audience members, and Marina and Nicco knew that it was deserving of a longer run. They are thrilled that HERE felt the same way.
Far beyond a mere gimmick, the flashlights lend a dreamlike, entrancing feel to Unpacking. Just as our experiences and memories are subjective, the audience gets to choose which pieces of the stage to illuminate, who they linger on, and what should remain in The Shadows. Unpacking must be seen live and will be talked about long into the night after the show.
About Marina & Nicco
Marina and Nicco are playwrights and screenwriters based in New York, who emerged from the underground sketch comedy scene. Their most recent play, Room 4, was met with sold-out shows, standing ovations, and was listed as a New York Times Critic's Pick in addition to receiving international coverage. Prior to Room 4, that they were playwrights-in-residence at The Peoples Improv Theater, and Marina Tempelsman's play Simon's Street ran at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre for eight months.
In addition to their theatrical work, their sketches and videos have been featured in The New Yorker's "Shorts and Murmurs," on Comedy Central, and Funny or Die. They wrote for Morgan Spurlock's "Call Bullshit," and were finalists in the LA Film Festival "Make Em LAFF" competition -- in addition to their regular live shows at major comedy theaters in New York. They co-wrote the feature film "Delusions of Guinevere," which was called "a surprisingly dark satire of modern celebrity" by The Village Voice and "sly and smart" by The New York Times. They have also written several pilots, a radio play series ("MURDER!"), and a number of original plays. They just finished a six-month playwriting residency at The PIT, and are currently developing an original web series for BRIC TV.
