Marin Ireland Books Recurring Role on Showtime's MASTERS OF SEX Season 2

Deadline writes that stage and screen actress Marin Ireland will play a recurring role in season two of Showtime's drama series MASTERS OF SEX. Ireland joins an impressive list of previously announced guest stars for season two, including Tony winner Christian Borle, Betsy Brandt, Sarah Silverman, Keke Palmer, Courtney B. Vance and Rene Auberjonois. Season two will premiere on Sunday, July 13th at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.

Ireland will take on the role of Pauline, the wife of Frank (Francis) Masters -- played by fellow thesp Borle. Frank is William Masters' brother (played by Michael Sheen). Frank and Pauline come to town looking for help in conceiving a child.

The actress has appeared on Broadway in The Big Knife, After Miss Julie and reasons to be pretty, for which she was nominated for a 2009 Tony Award. She will next be seen on the big screen in Some Freaks and currently appears in the TV series The Divide. Ireland is well known for her role as 'Aileen Morgan' in Homeland and also appeared on TV in Boss. Her recent film credits include Glass Chin, Take Care, Bottled Up and Side Effects.

MASTERS OF SEX stars Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan as real-life pioneers of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson, the series chronicles their unusual lives, romance and pop culture trajectory. Their research touched off the sexual revolution and took them from a mid-western teaching hospital in St. Louis to the cover of Time magazine.

The series is an adaptation of Thomas Maier's book Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How To Love. Season two also stars Caitlin Fitzgerald, Teddy Sears and Annaleigh Ashford. Season one of Masters of Sex received both Golden Globe and WGA nominations and was honored as one of AFI's Top Ten Television Programs of the Year.

The series was created by Michelle Ashford (The Pacific) who also serves as an executive producer. In addition, the series is executive produced by Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman, Judith Verno and Amy Lippman. Michael Dinner, Michael Sheen, Tammy Rosen and Thomas Maier serve as producers. Masters of Sex is produced by Sony Pictures Television.
