Margot Robbie Will Produce A Female-Focused Shakespeare TV Series

Entertainment Weekly has reported that Oscar-nominee Margot Robbie will head behind the scenes to produce a female-focused Shakespeare television series.

Reports say that Robbie's Production Company Lucky Chap will produce the ten-part TV series retelling Shakespeare's work from the feminine perspective.

Filming will begin in Australia in late 2018 by a team entirely made up of women.

According to the report, the series will modernize Shakespeare's works to explore the contemporary themes in the Shakespeare canon.

A rep for Lucky Chap said: "[This is] an opportunity to showcase unique, distinctly female voices in writing, and to demonstrate the high quality of the Australian film and television industry...The project will share diverse points of view, from writers representing the different cultures and areas within Australia, which many would not readily associate with works of Shakespeare."
