Marcovicci Among Town Hall 'Not Just Jazz' Line-Up

The Town Hall has announced the line-up for its latest Not Just Jazz Series. The program features a mix of sounds from the world over, including flamenco, Middle Eastern music, cabaret, nostalgic 60s and movie soundtracks. The Not Just Jazz concerts slated for 2007 are:

Friday, February 23 at 8 pm
For the first time in ten years, Andrea Marcovicci's most requested show Andrea Marcovicci: I'LL BE SEEING YOU… LOVE SONGS OF WW II can be enjoyed with a chamber orchestra in two acts. Marcovicci uses songs and stories to take the audience on a journey through America's most dramatic era highlighting many of America's most prolific songwriters, including Hoagy Carmichael, Johnny Mercer, Jule Styne and the many others responsible for hits like Sentimental Journey, The White Cliffs of Dover and Skylark.

Sunday, March 11 at 4 pm
After One World Symphony's sold-out debut last season, conductor Sung Jin Hong returns to lead One World in a vibrant program of great collaborations in American film -- ONE WORLD STRIKES BACK! MUSIC FROM HOLLYWOOD FILMS. Featuring Lucas/Williams': Star Wars Suite; Hitchcock/Hermann 's Vertigo and North By Northwest soundtracks; Adler/Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific; Disney/Stravinsky's Fantasia.
