Famed Brazilian Musicians CAITO MARCONDES and EVA GOMYDE kick-off the summer with a headlining show and the US premiere of BRAZILIAN CONTEMPORARY MUSIC, Friday, June 17th at 8:30pm at the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse (Samuel B. & David Rose Building, 10th Floor) located at 165 West 65th Street on the corner of Amsterdam Avenue. All tickets are $38.00, and available by calling CenterCharge at 212-721-6500, visiting www.lincolncenter.org, or heading to Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall box office.

Brazilian Contemporary Music features original music by Composer/Percussionist Caito Marcondes and Composer/Pianist Eva Gomyde. Audiences will hear two different musical visions - while Ms. Gomyde works her improvisational tapestry on the piano, plus bass and percussion, Mr. Marcondes makes use of an ensemble consisting of a classical string quartet, trombone and percussion. The groups' sound has been described as "a colorful focus on the boundless limits of musical instruments and the expanding ideas through the classical/popular border, with deep attachments to rich Brazilian melodies and rhythms." Marcondes has been named by legendary drummer/percussionist Airto Moreira the 'Villa-Lobos of percussion and a force on the music scene for many years.

"With our all-new show we aim to build a musical bridge between the creative music of today's Brazil and showcase its powerful relationship with both American and Brazilian musicians, many of whom are based in New York, " says Caito Marcondes. "We're very excited to have the wonderful opportunity to perform this show for many of our friends and fans, and new ones too," adds Eva Gomyde.

Musicians include: Caito Marcondes (drums, percussion, and voice), Eva Gomyde (acoustic grand piano), Tracy Silverman (violin, electric violin), Duncan Wickel (violin), Lev 'Ljova' Zhurbin (viola), Mark Summer (cello), Leco Reis (bass), and Dana Leong (trombone).
