?THE RAILROAD PLAYHOUSE is pleased to present a full court of interesting programs during the month of March. Local Artist, Imogene Drummond?s work will be on display in the gallery, Air Pirates Radio Theater, A Family Fun Day, Comedy Show and more.

? Artist of the Month is Imogene Drummond
March 6, 2011

On the afternoon of March 6th, enjoy a special preview screening of Imogene Drummond?s new film Divine Sparks, a 30-minute cross-cultural exploration of creativity and art. The screening will be at the Downing Film Center, followed by a Q&A with the artist/filmmaker. Immediately after, Imogene?s month-long art exhibition of paintings in the film will open at the Railroad Playhouse.

? Air Pirates Radio Theater
March 11 & 12

The Air Pirates Radio Theater, the only theater of its kind, is performing two of its mysteries at the theater. On March 11th Herb Marks Freelance: It Aint Over til the Fat Lady Swings and on March 12th Not All Fortunes are Found in Cookies are two of the company?s most popular comedies, directed by Paul Ellis. Presenting a unique mixture of live contemporary interactive theater and old time radio comedy the The Air Pirates perform the staged readings as they were broadcast live on the radio. An ensemble of five actors portrays all the characters while the audience is asked to produce all the sound effects. The Cue Card Girl lets the audiences know when it?s time to slam a door, make the footsteps and even shoot the guns during the shows.

Moody McCarthy, Buddy Fitzpatrick, and Tom Briscoe bring you a clean and funny look at growing up Irish, with material that won?t make your grandmother blush!

Folie á Deux: An evening of One Acts by Harold Pinter and Lanford Wilson

folie á deux ? f?-l?-ä-?d? (noun) the presence of the same or similar delusional ideas in two persons closely associated with one another. Also known as double madness.
The weird and wonderful Terra Firma Productions present rehearsed readings of Harold Pinter's "The Dumb Waiter" and Lanford Wilson's "Home Free!"
Terra Firma theatre is a ?biodynamic theatre company dedicated to using theatre as a tool for dialogue and symbiosis between the environment and the arts.? With such a strong mission statement, their two rehearsed readings promise to be an opportunity to see one of modern theater?s exciting and challenging new prospects.

THE RAILROAD PLAYHOUSE is dedicated to the revitalization of Newburgh and the preservation of Newburgh?s historic West Shore Railroad Station by providing a space for high-quality, artistically creative performing arts experiences.

The Railroad Playhouse will strive to provide a home for playwrights to workshop and showcase new plays; present local, national, and International Artists of all genres; create partnerships with local businesses and organizations to continue revitalizing the area; implement after school programming and a summer arts camp for local children; and create teaching-artists residences in local schools.
