Comedy Works has announced that Marc Maron will perform at Comedy Works Downtown in Larimer Square on Aug. 23-24.

For over fifteen years, Marc Maron has been writing and performing raw, honest and thought-provoking comedy for print, stage, radio and television. A legend in the stand-up community, he has appeared on Conan, Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Real Time, The Green Room, and two Comedy Central Presents specials.

Marc published a book based on his solo show, The Jerusalem Syndrome: My Life as a Reluctant Messiah, and is currently writing his memoirs for a new book to be released. Marc has released four extremely successful CDs titled Not Sold Out, Tickets Still Available, Final Engagement and his newest album This Has To Be Funny.

His podcast, WTF with Marc Maron, featuring compelling monologues and in-depth interviews with iconic personalities such as Conan O'Brien, Louis CK, Robin Williams, Anthony Bourdain, Judd Apatow and Ben Stiller, is a worldwide phenomenon with over 53 million downloads and counting. The show regularly hits #1 on iTunes charts, was named the "#1 Comedy Podcast" by LA Weekly, and has been called a "must-listen" byVanity Fair and New York Times.

Marc's half-hour scripted series, Maron, was picked up by IFC for ten episodes that are airing this year. Marc is included in Time Magazine's "100 short list of the Most Influential People 2012" and was nominated for two Comedy Central 2012 Comedy Awards. He also travels the world performing sold out stand up shows as well as Live WTF stage shows, and was given the honor of delivering the Keynote Address at the 2011 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.
