Teatro Oscuro will present Vincent Marano's new play A Collapse, in conjunction with the New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC, from August 13th through August 25th at the The Linhart Theater at 440 Studios (440 Lafayette ~ 3rd Floor).

"Inspired by true events, A Collapse tells the Story of a young girl trapped in a wall after a disaster. While her neighbors struggle with the aftermath of the catastrophe, the girl's mother searches frantically for help. A Collapse is not just the story of one victim, but how modern societies cope with disaster and the limits of compassion, community and personal responsibility," according to notes on the show, which was first produced as a workshop in conjunction with the Playground Development Series at Manhattan Theatre Source.

The cast will feature Michael Chimenti, Ethan Downing, Tod Engle,* Jerry Ferris, Don Juhlin,* Janice Mann, Kathleen O'Neill,* Christina Rommanello and Laura Williams, with an original score by Massey.

A Collapse is the latest project from Marano, whose work has been a mainstay of the New York International Fringe Festival for the last four years.  He has directed award-winning dramas such as Tim Nolan's The Way Out (Fringe, 2002, Best Performance) and Acts of Contrition (Fringe, 2003, Best Play), served as dramaturg on Robert Moultroup's Half Life (Fringe 2005, Best Play), and directed and produced the hits Wrong Barbarians and Choking on Happiness (Fringe 2004).  He also translated Machiavelli's The Mandrake for Manhattan Theatre Source earlier this year.

The show will play: Sun. 8/13 at 7:15pm, Fri. 8/18 at 8:15pm, Sat. 8/19 at 2:15pm, Sun. 8/20 at 8:30pm and Fri. 8/25 at 3:15pm.  Tickets are $15.  For reservations (in New York) call: (212) 279-4488 or (outside New York): 1-888-FringeNYC, or visit www.FringeNYC.org.
