Manolakos, Reed, Sharnell et al. Set For 'Out of The Ensemble' Cabaret, 4/26

Kearns Artist Services and COMIX Present a continuation of their cabaret series "Out of the Ensemble" on April 26th at 8pm in COMIX's new The Copper Room. Out of the Ensemble highlights the talent of the unsung heroes of Broadway shows - members of the Ensemble.

This month's performance will be a fundraiser for STEP Theater Company, a new non-profit theater company that bridges the gap between what is commonly seen in theater and dance companies. The show will feature performances by Carrie Manolakos (Wicked National Tour), Ian Paget (Mamma Mia), Courtney Reed (In the Heights), LaQuet Sharnell (Memphis) and Leah Taylor.

Out of the Ensemble is one of the few series that offers the opportunity to see Broadway performers with a low cover charge with no drink minimum. Cover is $5 at the door and drink specials will include $5 cocktails and $3 draft beers all night in The Copper Room.

Carrie Manolakos is back in New York after returning from the 2nd National Tour and the San Francisco Companies of Wicked (Elphaba Standby). Other Credits include Mamma Mia (Sophie) on Broadway and the 2nd National Tour. Carrie is also a New York singer/songwriter and is working on an album that will be coming out this year. www.carriemanolakos.com

Ian Paget is made his Broadway debut in Mamma Mia! His credits include the London-European Tour of West Side Story (Arab; u/s Baby John) directed by Joey Mkneely, Dreamgirls at Theatre Under The Stars (Ensemble; u/s Dave), and The Music Man (Tommy Djilas). He graduated with a BA in Acting from Marymount Manhattan College.

Courtney Reed is currently playing Carla (Understudy Nina/Vanessa) in the 2008 Tony award winning musical IN THE HEIGHTS. She was last seen on Broadway in MAMMA MIA! understudying Ali/Lisa. She received her BFA from the Theater Conservatory of the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.

LaQuet Sharnell is graduate and Alumni from Booker T. Washington HSPVA and North Carolina School of the Arts. LaQuet is the Founder and Artistic Director of STEP Theater Company and has recently finished the first ever show for the company in March 2010. www.laquetsharnell.com and www.steptheatercompany.com

Leah Taylor comes to the New York stage from the Nashville music scene. While there she was a popular recruit lending her voice to commercials, demos, voice overs as well as leading several popular local bands (the Leah Taylor Project and Guilty Pleasures). She has sung with the Nashville Opera, Tulsa Opera and Abilene Opera as well as been a member of the Nashville ensemble "Comedy Team". Leah is looking to step "into the ensemble" in New York and make her mark here.
