Manhattan School of Music will present a student-initiated and -produced musical theater performance of Jason Robert Brow's The Last Five Years on November 4th at 8 pm and November 5th at 9:30 pm.  The performance will take place in the Manhattan School of Music's Greenfield Hall, 122nd Street (601 West 122nd Street).

Tony-winner Brown (Parade, Songs for a New World), who been a guest artist at the Manhattan School of Music Professional Musical Theater Workshop, "created an unusual love story about two different people, told through two different times."

The Last Five Years is a love story is told in a non-linear style. "Cathy, the out-of-work actress begins the story at the end of the relationship, and proceeds to go backwards in time to the very beginning, where as Jamie, the talented writer starts at the first date and goes forward in time to the end of the relationship," state press notes.

This student-initiated project will be directed by senior Bachelor of Music candidate, Micah Young. He will also be a part of the band, which includes students, Mike Fazio on bass, Andrew Janss and Lauren Weaver on cellos, Tom Martin on violin, and Dan Lindon on guitar. LR Davidson, a sophomore voice major, stars in the show, alongside guest actor Joey Calveri. The idea, concept and staged performance were arranged by Young, who is also a pianist.
