Mamma Mia!'s Matt Farver Raises $17,000 for Cancer Center

Competing as a member of Fred's Team, Farver placed 980 among 38,000 runners and qualified for the Boston Marathon next April.

Fred's Team is a group of first-time and veteran marathon runners with the common goals of raising funds for critical cancer research through running marathons. In 2005, 650 runners competed in the ING New York City Marathon wearing the orange-and-purple Fred's Team uniform. Fred's Team runners have also competed in marathons around the country and throughout the world -- in Anchorage, Antarctica, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, New Orleans, and San Francisco -- to benefit Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
