Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' global smash hit musical Mamma Mia!, will conclude a successful five and a half year engagement at the Mandalay Bay Theatre in late summer of 2008 following more than 2,300 performances. Mamma Mia!, featuring the songs of ABBA, is the world's Number One Musical. The production is the longest running and most successful full-length Broadway musical ever to play Las Vegas.

"We have been so welcomed in Las Vegas by local audiences and visitors alike," said global producer Judy Craymer. "I am so proud that we have paved the way for other blockbuster shows from London and Broadway to be able to play on the Strip. We have been very fortunate in partnering with Mandalay Bay who continue to support and promote Mamma Mia! in every possible way with us."

With productions playing in London's West End (seven years and counting) and on Broadway (five years and counting), Mamma Mia! also continues to tour throughout the U.S. (six years and counting). The Russian-language production of Mamma Mia! recently opened in Moscow and over the last two years, the International Tour has played in Dublin, Edinburgh, South Africa, Tallinn, Lisbon, Brussels, Paris, throughout Germany, Vienna, Zurich and Belfast. With a total of 11 productions playing in seven languages around the world, Mamma Mia! has been seen by more than 30 million people worldwide.

Mamma Mia! is produced by Judy Craymer, Richard East and Björn Ulvaeus for Littlestar in association with Universal.

Craymer added, "We are confirming that we will end this Las Vegas run of Mamma Mia! now to let visitors know that they should plan ahead to see the production on their next visit to Nevada. 2008 promises to be a very exciting year for Mamma Mia! as we are in discussions about bringing the show to new markets, including South America, that rarely get a chance to see live musical theater."

Bill Hornbuckle, president of Mandalay Bay, said "Mamma Mia! epitomizes everything that the Las Vegas experience is about – energy, excitement and above all else, fun. We are thrilled to work with such wonderful partners and together will ensure that the next 18 months of Mamma Mia! are as fun and successful as the last four years have been."

Mamma Mia! is written by Catherine Johnson, with music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus. Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, Mamma Mia! has choreography by Anthony Van Laast, production design by Mark Thompson, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.

Talks are also underway for a possible return engagement to Toronto following the Las Vegas run. Mamma Mia! debuted in North America at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto, playing a record-breaking five years.

The performance schedule for Mamma Mia! at the Mandalay Bay Theatre is Sunday - Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m. & 10 p.m. There is no performance on Friday.

Tickets for Mamma Mia! are $100 - $45. Tickets are available by calling the Mandalay Bay Box Office at 703-632-7580, Ticketmaster at 703-474-4000 and online at www.mandalaybay.com or www.mamma-mia.com
