Producers for the critically acclaimed new Broadway musical An American in Paris, announced a National Tour for the 2016-17 season.
"Speaking on behalf of my partners, Van Kaplan and Roy Furman, we have been so gratified by the audience and critical response to the show," producer Stuart Oken said. "We can't wait to bring this extraordinary production to theater lovers across America."

An American In Paris is the romantic story of a young American soldier, a beautiful French girl and an indomitable European city, each yearning for a new beginning in the aftermath of war.
An American In Paris is directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. Inspired by the Academy-Award winning film, An American in Paris brings this classic tale to Broadway for the first time with music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by Tony nominee and Pulitzer Prize finalist Craig Lucas.
Recently nominated for 12 Drama Desk Awards, 8 Outer Critics Circle Awards and 3 Drama-League Awards including Outstanding Musical, the production opened on April 12 to widespread critical acclaim.
The creative team is comprised of six-time Tony Award winner Bob Crowley (sets and costumes), four-time Tony Award winner Natasha Katz (lighting), Jon Weston (sound), 59 Productions (projections) with the musical score adapted, arranged and supervised by Rob Fisher, orchestrations by Christopher Austin, dance arrangements by Sam Davis, musical supervision by Todd Ellison, additional orchestrations by Don Sebesky and Bill Elliott and musical direction by? Brad Haak. The Associate Director is Jacquelin Barrett and the Associate Choreographer is Dontee Kiehn. Casting is by Telsey + Company/Rachel Hoffman.
The score of An American in Paris includes the songs "I Got Rhythm," "Liza," "'S Wonderful," "But Not For Me," "I'll Build a Stairway to Paradise," and orchestral music including "Concerto in F," "Second Prelude," "Second Rhapsody/Cuban Overture" and "An American In Paris."
