THE MAGNET THEATER, New York's premiere theater and training center announces a new special program, IMPROV FOR TEENS which will begin on June 24th and ends July 12th. Instructor for this special class will be Elana Fishbein.

In this course, teens will explore the fundamental principles of improvisation through exercises in agreement, commitment, spontaneity and collaboration. Focus will be on developing group mind, creating unique characters, and exploring the most important tenet of improv (and life), "Yes And!". This experience will allow the students to take creative risks, tap into new forms of self expression, and operate as a member of a supportive ensemble. Students will walk away with a fundamental understanding of long- form improvisation and the skills to perform grounded, hilarious, improv scenes. The class will culminate with a final performance for family and friends. This class is perfect for teens interested in the performing arts.

The class will meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the Magnet Theatre Training Center located at 259 West 30th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues.

Price for the summer session is $275.00. For information contact The Magnet Theater at 212 244-2400. For more information, visit www.magnettheater.com.
