If your mom is a child of the 60's, 70's or 80's and you want to be her favorite son or daughter - have we found your ‘in'! This Mother's Day, two of your mom's favorite R&B and Soul Acts - The Whispers and Teena Marie - are going to be performing their annual tribute to moms at the Theater at Madison Square Garden! What better way to celebrate mom than by transporting her back in time to when her life was not yet about diapers and drooling kids (or grandkids)? If you throw in a fancy brunch and a mani/pedi on top of it, this Kiss FM sponsored event presented by Marquee Concerts should be the perfect ending to the perfect Mother's Day!

The Whispers are one of only a few "old school" groups that can boast of having over 40 years in the industry with a worldwide fan base, maintaining their vocal dominance and original members. The Whispers began their legendary and timeless R&B career in 1963, and have recorded seven gold albums and two platinum albums. Their music has been heard on movie soundtracks such as "Waiting to Exhale" and "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" and were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003. The legendary R&B quartet waited almost a decade to produce a new CD in 2006 titled "For Your Ears Only". The album received accolades from Donnie Simpson, Michael Baisden, Tavis Smiley, Gail Mitchell from Billboard magazine, and fans and DJ's across the country. It also charted on Billboard's Top R&B 100 in September 2006, evidence that the Whispers just get better with time.

Pint-sized, soul stirring songstress and four-time Grammy nominee Teena Marie got her start at Motown Records in 1977 where she met her mentor and paramour-to-be, Rick James. James did all of the writing and producing for her debut album of 1979, Wild and Peaceful but by her third album, 1980's Gold Irons in the Fire featuring the major hit "I Need Your Lovin," Marie was doing most of her own writing and producing. Marie went gold again with her next album, It Must Be Magic featuring the major hit "Square Biz." In 1984, Marie recorded Starchild and had her biggest pop hit ever with "Lovergirl." Four more Epic albums followed, including 1994's Passion Play. Ten years later, Teena Marie signed to Cash Money and released La Doña, featuring assistance from Gerald LeVert, Rick James, and MC Lyte. Still recording and touring, Teena is just as focused and passionate as ever.
