In celebration of the career of Jack Donahue, the fabled eccentric tap dancing star of vaudeville and Broadway, and the subject of the new musical My Vaudeville Man!, the York Theatre is presenting two special events on the December 5th and 6th. Both free events will follow the performance of My Vaudeville Man!

Friday December 5th, following the 8 pm performance:
A TALK WITH Bob Fitch & Bert Michaels
Enjoy a chat with beloved Broadway veteran dancers Bob Fitch (Annie, Tenderloin, Mack & Mabel, among many others) and Bert Michaels (Cabaret, Baker Street, Sugar, among many others). Both beloved and skilled eccentric dancers themselves, they will discuss eccentric dance in Donahue's day as well as today.

Saturday December 6th, following the 3 pm matinee:
ECCENTRIC TAPPERS ON STAGE AND FILM
Join the star of My Vaudeville Man!, Shonn Wiley as he leads you through a look at the eccentric dancers of Donahue's era and beyond, as captured on film: discover the talents of Marilyn Miller, James Cagney, Buddy Ebsen (with his sister Velma), Jack Donahue protégé Eleanor Powell and Jack's understudy and brother Joe Donahue. Joining Shonn will be My Vaudeville Man! co-creator Jeff Hochhauser.

The YORK THEATRE COMPANY (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) and Melanie Herman, who produced The Musical Of Musicals (The Musical!), are presenting the Off-Broadway Premiere of My Vaudeville Man!, a new musical based on the life of legendary eccentric tap star Jack Donahue. Performances continue through January 4th only. My Vaudeville Man! has a book by Jeff Hochhauser, music by Bob Johnston, and lyrics by Johnston and Hochhauser, based on Jack Donahue's Letters of a Hoofer to his Ma. Lynne Taylor-Corbett directs and choreographs with Shonn Wiley serving as co-choreographer.

My Vaudeville Man! is the story of a boy born to dance and the mother who fought to keep him home! Karen Murphy and Shonn Wiley star in the musical based on the life of legendary eccentric tap dancer Jack Donahue (played by Ray Bolger on film) and his mother-who fights to keep her son off the wicked vaudeville stage.

The York Theatre Company is located at Saint Peter's in Citigroup Center on Lexington Avenue just east of 54th Street. Tickets are available now, by calling 212-935-5820. For more information, visit www.yorktheatre.org <http://www.yorktheatre.org/> .
