Lola Maltz returns to The Duplex Cabaret Theatre with her one-woman musical MY MOM IS A SEX THERAPIST. Drawing from her real-life journey growing up as the daughter of a sex therapist, Lola plays multiple characters, including her Mom, a sexually voracious alter ego, and the full cast of a lesbian safe-sex PSA. In a show that Bistro Awards called "hilarious," this "stellar performer" shows how she grew into the daring woman that she is today.
Revamped and revised with an original score by award-winning songwriter Joshua H. Cohen and direction and choreography by Michael Raine, MY MOM IS A SEX THERAPIST features Garrit Guadan at the piano leading a three-piece band.
MY MOM IS A SEX THERAPIST will be performed at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre, 61 Christopher Street on the corner of 7th Avenue, on Friday, November 16, at 9:30 pm. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door (plus service fee), with a 2-drink minimum in the Cabaret Theatre. For tickets and more information, visit https://www.purplepass.com/maltz1116
Lola Maltz (Performer and Writer) has been performing this show since 2010 when she first premiered it at The Duplex. Lola is currently studying acting with Matthew Corozine of MCS where she recently got to play her dream role of Rose in Gypsy. She loves acting, singing, dancing, and writing, and is so grateful that she gets to be an artist and to give a voice to shame and what it means to be human. Lola hopes you'll take at least one thing away from this show, and that is... to love yourself! www.lolamaltz.com
