Manhattan Theatre Club's "After Words" discussion series at the Biltmore Theatre, is now available online via podcast at www.manhattantheatreclub.com/current-season/translations/audio.htm

The inaugural "After Words" available online features a discussion between Susan Lynch, currently starring in MTC's hit production of TRANSLATIONS, and noted Irish author Colm Tóibín. The discussion was moderated by MTC Director of Education David Shookhoff.

Lynch and Tóibín's discussion on the ideas and emotions behind Brian Friel's TRANSLATIONS can be heard online at www.manhattantheatreclub.com/current-season/translations/audio.htm

"After Words" launched on January 20 and has proved successful with MTC subscribers and theater goers alike. Panelists during the remaining three editions of "After Words" during TRANSLATIONS limited engagement will include:

Dr. Wes Davis, Professor of English at Yale University on Saturday, February 24

Dr. Padraig O'Cearuill, Irish Language Lecturer at New York University on Saturday, March 3

Paul Muldoon, Pulitzer Prize-winning Irish poet, and Nuala O'Faolain, best-selling author (Are You Somebody?) on Saturday, March 10

As part of their continuing effort to deepen and enrich the play-going experience for audiences, Manhattan Theatre Club has instituted the "After Words" discussion series. Held after selected Saturday matinees at the Biltmore Theatre, this exciting series of talks with prominent writers, scholars, commentators, and artists provides provocative and illuminating insights into the political, cultural, and artistic contexts of the plays MTC produces at the Biltmore Theatre.

For special discounted tickets to a Saturday matinee performance of TRANSLATIONS and the accompanying "After Words", please call 212-947-8844 and mention code TRAFW24, or visit BroadwayOffers.com and enter coded TRAFW24. Offer is valid for all Saturday matinee performances through March 10, 2007. Restrictions apply. Regular talkbacks at MTC's New York City Center space will continue to take place as usual.

Plans for "After Words" editions during the run of LOVEMUSIK are currently being planned.

In 1981, MTC produced the American premiere of Brian Friel's masterpiece TRANSLATIONS. Twenty-five years later, the themes of this play are as timely as ever. Clashing cultures and tragedies of miscommunication unfold in Friel's invented Irish county of Ballybeg, a place he has explored in his plays Dancing at Lughnasa, Aristocrats and Molly Sweeney.  Poignant and moving, TRANSLATIONS depicts the power of language to unite and divide people in a time of cultural imperialism.

The TRANSLATIONS cast includes Niall Buggy, David Costabile, Alan Cox, Dermot Crowley, Michael Fitzgerald, Morgan Hallett, Geraldine Hughes, Susan Lynch, Graeme Malcolm and Chandler Williams.
