Manhattan Theatre Club continues its popular discussion series at the intimate venue of The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at WNYC and WQXR with After Words: Venus in Fur tonight, November 17 starting at 5pm.
The event will explore the sexy new play Venus in Fur, written by David Ives, directed by Walter Bobbie, starring Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy. Vanda (Arianda) is a talented young actress hoping to land the lead role in Thomas' (Dancy) new play based on the classic erotic novel, Venus in Fur. Her emotionally-charged audition for the demanding playwright/director becomes an electrifying game of cat and mouse, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality. Venus in Fur is written by theatrical mastermind David Ives, and directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie.
WQXR host
Elliott Forrest will welcome Ives, Bobbie, Arianda, and Dancy for a dynamic discussion exploring the scintillating play's new home on Broadway, Arianda's reprise in her lauded role of Vanda, and more.
The limited engagement of Venus in Fur opened Tuesday, November 8, 2011.
Manhattan Theatre Club's After Words: Venus in Fur is on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 5pm at The Greene Space, 44 Charlton Street (at Varick Street), New York, NY 10014. Tickets are $20 and are available at
