MTC Appoints New Associate Artistic Directors

Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director and Barry Grove, Executive Producer, announces that Meadow has appointed Paige Evans and Mandy Greenfield to the position of Associate Artistic Director of Manhattan Theatre Club. Both Evans and Greenfield have been part of Meadow's artistic team for several seasons. Evans will now be Associate Artistic Director/Programming and Greenfield will be Associate Artistic Director/Production.

"Evans and Greenfield have been an integral part of MTC's artistic producing these past seasons, especially since the company's move to the Biltmore theatre. Their new titles reflect both the leadership roles they have already been playing and an amplification of their upcoming responsibilities," according to MTC notes.

Paige Evans was named Director of Artistic Development in 2003. She began her tenure at MTC in 1990 working as an Artistic Assistantin the Script office. She went on to become a Literary Associate, the Associate Literary Manager and then the Literary Manager in 1994. She left MTC in 1997 to take a fellowship from the Institute of Current World Affairs and lived in Cuba from 1998 to 2000, studying and writing about the performing arts there. Evans is a graduate of Harvard College, where she studied History and Literature. After graduation, she moved to Rome, where she worked as Arts Editor of the daily newspaper "The International Courier". She has taught a Contemporary American Playwrights course as an Adjunct Professor at NYU and has served as a judge for various playwriting awards, including this year's PEN / Laura Pels Awards.

Mandy Greenfield began her tenure at MTC as an intern in the script office when she was still an undergraduate at Yale University. She returned to MTC in 2003 as an Artistic Associate and was named Director of Artistic Operations one year later. Before joining MTC, Greenfield was the Producer of Basic Grammar, a company she founded, under the auspices of which she produced critically acclaimed off-Broadway premieres including Louis Broome's Texarkana Waltz, the musical Betty Rules, directed by Michael Greif, and Daniel Goldfarb's Modern Orthodox, in co-production with Long Wharf Theater. Prior to that, as the Producer at Blue Light Theater Company, her work included Darko Tresnjak's Drama Desk-nominated Princess Turandot and Daniel Goldfarb's Adam Baum and The Jew Movie (winner of1999-2000 Oppenheimer Award for Best New York Debut). She also worked for New York Stage and Film and for Richard Frankel Productions. Currently, Greenfield serves on the Advisory Board of the Drama League and on the committee for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize.  Greenfield graduated magna cum laude from Yale University.

They have both beenintegral forces in the successes MTC has enjoyed since our expansion to the Biltmore.  We have been an artistic team, along with our casting directors Nancy Piccione and David Caparelliotis, and our Director of Artistic Administration Amy Loe.  I look forward to my continued collaboration with them in the coming seasons."

Daniel Sullivan says, "I have enjoyed my working with Paige and Mandy when I was directing at MTC and know I will appreciate our association as I assume the acting Artistic Directorship of MTC for the 2007-2008 season."
