MOTHER'S DAY, a dark comedy/family drama by Colin Drucker, will make its world premiere this August at The Players Theatre as part of the 18th Annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC.

Acid-tongued New York drag queen Helen Back (aka Joey Pollack) incites a nuclear family meltdown when he comes home to New Jersey to see his family for Mother's Day. His mother Liz, father Talbott and older brother Nicky are a captive audience to Joey's trademark button-pushing and cruel putdowns. But a shocking announcement finally tears down the illusions they have been maintaining for years and reveals the limits to what each of them they can accept in the name of family.

MOTHER'S DAY will be directed by Reginald L. Douglas (Seeds of Abraham, Billie Holliday Theatre; Master Harold...and the Boys, Luna Stage) and stars Karl Gregory (From White Plains, Fault Line Theatre, GLAAD Media Award; FROGS, Fault Line Theatre), Renee Claire Bergeron (2012 New York Innovative Theatre Award Winner - Outstanding Actress in a Lead Role, A Man of No Importance, The Gallery Players; A Homecoming, FringeNYC 2013) and Neal Lerner (Orange Is the New Black; Law & Order). Set design is by Colin McGurk (Iyom, The Workshop Theater; Zelda At The Oasis, St. Luke's Theatre) and costumes by Orli Nativ (The Chocolate Show, 47th Street Theatre; Hairspray, Summer Theatre of New Canaan). Stage management is by John Simmons (The Active Theater; Milk Can Theatre). MOTHER'S DAY is produced by Colin Drucker and Renee Claire Bergeron.

MOTHER'S DAY marks playwright/producer Colin Drucker's theatrical debut. "It's an incredibly rewarding experience to have the opportunity to bring MOTHER'S DAY to a New York audience this summer thanks to FringeNYC," explains Drucker, who received his BA in Writing from Ithaca College.

MOTHER'S DAY will play a limited engagement at Venue #17: The Players Theater (115 MacDougal Street (West 3rd and Bleecker)). Performances are Tuesday, August 12th at 9:15pm, Wednesday, August 13th at 2:00pm, Wednesday, August 20th at 4:30pm, Friday, August 22nd at 9:00pm and Sunday, August 24th at 2:00pm.
