MOLASSES IN JANUARY Opens at The Davenport Theater This Month

As Molasses in January prepares to open Tuesday evening at the Davenport Theatre, the cast reflects upon the meaning of the show. Interestingly, the show underlines a different meaning for each cast member proving the show will be a unique experience for audience members of all demographics.

Molasses in January is embellished with Italian culture and family ties which proves to be a theme any Italian- American can relate with, and like most Italian families even if you're not Italian, Anna's family welcomes you into their own for the duration of the show. While the show has its light family friendly tones, the underlying threat of the war and anarchy paint the musical with a more complex element and in ways parallels itself to conflicts still occurring today.
